What Comes Out of Us: the Work of Welcome

Jesus says in Mark 7 that the deepest problem is not what comes into us, but what comes out of us. Holiness is not guarded by distance from other people. It is revealed in the kind of love, patience, and mercy we practice.
That is both comforting and convicting. It means your questions do not make you unworthy. Your body does not make you unclean. Your story does not disqualify you from belonging. It also means our communities are responsible for the fruit we bear. If what comes out of us is contempt, fear, or exclusion, then that is what needs healing.
The good news is that the Holy Spirit does not leave us there. The Spirit keeps forming tenderness where we expected defensiveness, and courage where we expected silence. God is still shaping us into people whose lives make more room, not less.
Our Core Value "Crafting Grace Together" Says:
"We actively demonstrate that God's love is unconditional & following Jesus is not dependent on flawless actions. Our church engages in community outreach, providing support and resources to those in need."
The goal is not perfection. The goal is to aim for the center of The Potter's Wheel and if we fall off, or need reshaping, to aim back towards that center so we can become what God is shaping us into.
Reflection Question: What kind of fruit is God trying to grow through you right now?
