The Book of Acts: Like Wildfire
In Acts 10–12:19, the wildfire of the Spirit breaks loose. What began as a spark in Jerusalem now leaps boundaries of culture, tradition, and power. God declares, “Do not call anything impure that I have made clean” — and suddenly Cornelius’ household, Gentiles and outsiders, are swept up in the same fire that fell at Pentecost.
Persecution does not quench it. James is martyred, Peter is imprisoned, but the Word of God continues to spread. Even the downfall of kings cannot stop the Spirit’s advance. Like wildfire, the movement burns away false boundaries and leaves behind fertile soil where new life can flourish.
This is not fire-and-brimstone destruction but the refining flame of the Holy Spirit: purifying, leveling, and renewing. God will work through whomever God chooses, wherever God chooses, until the flame spreads everywhere.
